Courage

from Dealing With Liquids by Kamakura

/

lyrics

I've watched you from afar for a long, long time
Laughing, joking, smiling with our friends
And I fell: fell in love with you
The way you are, the who you are
But you will never know

I see you everyday and it tears me apart
That I love you so and you don't know
But it's better this way

'cause you might say no and tear my heart apart
You might say no and leave me in the dark
You might say no and my life would surely end
But I don't have the courage

Though I know you are a true, true friend
There's a part of me so terrified
you'll reject what you see
And I couldn't bear the pain
if you walked away
So I won't tell and you won't know
And it's better this way

'cause you might say no and tear my heart apart
You might say no and leave me in the dark
You might say no and my life would surely end
I've got to find the courage
